SBYSO’s fifth annual summer camp will take place June 15-19 at Saint Mary’s College. With the theme “Sounds of a New Nation,” this summer’s camp will feature music from HBO’s John Adams series, written by Rob Lane, and performed with episode(s) from the show. The camp will also include daily sectionals and rehearsals, guest Artist workshops and speakers, lunch each day in the Saint Mary’s College cafeteria, and social opportunities each day, and more!
Led by SBYSO Music Director Dr. Robert Boardman and conductor Zac Couldret, participants will take part in dynamic full-orchestra rehearsals, sectionals, and special masterclasses with professional musicians and SBYSO alumni.
Click here for the application form, and share it with your friends! (Current SBYSO students do not need to submit an audition video). Those who apply will be notified of their acceptance by April 25.
Our summer camp tuition usually is $400+, but due to the generosity of our season sponsors, we are offering the camp experience this summer for a deeply discounted rate of $250 if you register by April 15. Those who register by March 29 will receive the Early Bird Discount rate of $195 if accepted.
Beyond rehearsals, campers will enjoy guest lectures, composer workshops, and recreational activities, including games, movies, and outdoor fun—all while building lifelong friendships with like-minded musicians.
